Refreshing the City

Refresh NYC is a community of enthusiastic web professionals who simply want to make the web a better place. Although our members are mainly designers and developers, anyone is welcome to attend and participate in our meetings.

Membership

Anyone who shows up at a meeting, joins us in one of our external networks, replies to a post, or otherwise contributes to the discussion should consider themselves a member. We don’t charge anything for membership nor will we ever.

Events

We’re shooting to have a pilot meeting in early December to do some initial planning. Following that, monthly meetings are likely to occur. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you in the loop.

• Host a meeting at your workspace
• Give a talk
• Befriend us and meet other professionals on one of our networks
  • Meetup: Meetup is our central hub and source of events, updates, or just about anything group related.
  • Twitter: We tweet fairly regularly and we promise to keep it interesting. Tag anything related using the #refreshnyc hash tag.
  • Delicious: Lets share cool links with each other. Add us to your network and tag bookmarks with for:refreshnyc
  • Upcoming: We organize all our events through here and also use it to help you find other great events in NYC.
• Sponsor drinks after one of our meetings.
• Offer some of your design or development skills to improve our website!

Refreshing the World

This group is one branch of several others which make up the Refreshing Cities movement which is now recognized worldwide. To put it in their own words: Refresh is a community of designers and developers working to refresh the creative, technical, and professional culture of New Media endeavors in their areas.
